This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps that Gardeners Osidge has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. Gardeners Osidge is committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Gardeners Osidge has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. We do not and will not knowingly engage with any organisation, contractor, or individual involved in such practices. This commitment applies to all areas of our business, regardless of location or function, and forms an integral part of our values and culture.

All colleagues, from senior management to site-based teams, are expected to uphold this policy. Breaches are treated as serious misconduct and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, or referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Our Supply Chain and Supplier Expectations

Our supply chain includes providers of plants, materials, tools, equipment, transport, and ancillary services. Gardeners Osidge expects all suppliers and contractors to share our commitment to safeguarding human rights and to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws.

We communicate our standards to existing and prospective suppliers and make clear that modern slavery or human trafficking within their operations or supply chains will not be tolerated. Suppliers are required to maintain appropriate policies, records, and oversight to ensure that forced, bonded, or involuntary labour is not used at any stage of their activities.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

Gardeners Osidge has implemented proportionate due diligence procedures to assess the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain. New suppliers are subject to onboarding checks, which may include confirmation of compliance with modern slavery legislation, review of relevant policies, and, where appropriate, requests for supporting documentation.

We carry out periodic supplier audits based on a risk-based approach, taking into account factors such as country of operation, type of goods or services provided, and the use of subcontractors or temporary labour. These audits may involve questionnaires, site visits where feasible, and review of employment practices and documentation. Where non-compliance or concerns are identified, we work with the supplier on a corrective action plan, or we may suspend or terminate the relationship if issues are not promptly and effectively addressed.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Gardeners Osidge encourages all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns regarding modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised to line managers, senior management, or through established whistleblowing channels within the organisation.

Reports can be made confidentially, and individuals raising genuine concerns will be protected from retaliation or detrimental treatment. We investigate all reports promptly, take appropriate action, and, where necessary, cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.

Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement

We promote awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and relevant suppliers. Training and guidance are provided, particularly to those involved in procurement, contract management, and site supervision, to help them identify warning signs and respond appropriately to any suspicions or incidents.

Annual Review and Approval

As part of the review, we evaluate the effectiveness of our due diligence, audits, training, and reporting mechanisms, and identify any areas for enhancement.

The statement is approved by the leadership of Gardeners Osidge, who retain overall responsibility for ensuring that adequate resources and oversight are in place to uphold our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and human trafficking across all aspects of our business.
